This summer, Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) invites travelers to beat the desert heat and discover the cool allure of California wine country, as Avelo Airlines extends its air service from Palm Springs to Santa Rosa, CA, through the summer. Avelo Airlines is the sole airline serving Palm Springs to offer direct flights to Santa Rosa/Sonoma, CA. With this announcement, PSP will offer nonstop service to 13 airports over the summer months, more than ever before, with quick one-stop connections to more than 230 global cities.

As the gateway to California wine country, Sonoma County Airport (STS) provides convenient access to an abundance of attractions and experiences. Within minutes of landing at STS, travelers find themselves amidst dozens of wineries, just 25 minutes from the majestic redwoods, and a mere 30 minutes from the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

With its gently rolling hillsides, invigorating ocean breezes, ancient redwoods, and serene rivers and streams, Sonoma County offers a wide range of outdoor activities and adventures. From hiking and cycling along miles of scenic trails to kayaking, ziplining, hot air ballooning, and horseback riding, there’s something for every nature enthusiast to enjoy.

“For travelers seeking an unforgettable getaway to California wine country, Avelo Airlines’ extension of service from PSP to Santa Rosa offers the perfect opportunity to escape the desert heat this summer and immerse themselves in the cool charm of Sonoma County,” said Harry Barrett, Jr., Executive Director of Aviation at Palm Springs International Airport.

Since launching air service from Palm Springs in November 2022, Avelo has offered convenient and affordable nonstop flights to three popular destinations in Northern California and Oregon: Santa Rosa/Sonoma, CA, as well as Bend and Eugene, OR. The airline continues to prioritize offering customers time and money-saving convenience, low everyday fares, and a refreshingly smooth and reliable experience.
