What We Do
PSP provides commercial air service, general aviation operations, and essential airport infrastructure for the region.
The airport operates 24 hours a day, with security screening available when flights are departing.
Airport History
PSP began as a World War II Army air base and evolved into the region’s commercial airport.
In 1966, architect Donald Wexler designed the iconic terminal building, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Over the decades, PSP has expanded to meet growing demand while preserving its distinctive architectural identity.
Planning for the Future
Through Progress PSP, the airport’s long term capital improvement program, PSP is investing in infrastructure, modernization, and expanded capacity to support future growth.

Airport Commission
The Airport Commission is a 19 member advisory body appointed by the Palm Springs City Council. Commissioners represent the City of Palm Springs, eight Coachella Valley cities, and Riverside County.
The Commission typically meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:00 PM. Meetings are open to the public and parking is validated for attendees.

The Airport Administration office is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is closed on Fridays, weekends, and holidays.
