Two Years of Southwest Service and More Flights for Palm Springs International Airport
Palm Springs, California – Southwest Airlines is launching new year-round nonstop service to San Jose from Palm Springs International Airport on Sunday. With the start of this service, Southwest will fly to eight airports including Dallas Love, Denver, Las Vegas, Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, and Sacramento. Dallas Love and Portland are offered seasonally, while all others operate year-round.
Southwest Airlines began service to Palm Springs two years ago in November 2022, and since then they have quickly grown to become one of the largest airlines at PSP. Southwest now offers more year-round routes from Palm Springs than any other airline, which has helped to propel Palm Springs International Airport to new heights with 14 new passenger records set since June 2021.
“Approaching our second anniversary in Palm Springs, we’ve already doubled the number of daily departures and we’ve more than doubled the number of places with a nonstop link to the Coachella Valley,” said Adam Decaire, Vice President of Network Planning for Southwest Airlines. “The addition of a San Jose flight, alongside our daily Oakland service, brings even more access to the Bay Area on California’s favorite and largest carrier.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Southwest’s service to San Jose,” said Harry Barrett, Executive Director of Aviation. “Since Southwest began service to PSP, we’ve set many new passenger records, we have more in-season and summer service than ever before, and we’ve seen summer passenger counts grow to levels PSP has never had.”
