Porter Airlines is bringing its elevated economy service to Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), launching nonstop flights from Toronto-Pearson International Airport (YYZ) this December.

The seasonal winter service, starting Dec. 12, will offer three weekly flights.

When flying Porter, passengers enjoy a level of genuine onboard hospitality unlike any other airline in North America. The elevated economy experience starts with a selection of premium snacks, plus free beer and wine served in glassware included with every ticket, for everyone.

The route will be operated with the brand-new Embraer E195-E2. Its signature two-by-two configuration means there are no middle seats on any Porter flight. The 132-seat aircraft is also equipped with fast and free WiFi for all passengers, offering the freedom to stream, surf the web, and stay in touch from gate to gate.

Priority check-in and boarding, extra legroom seats, premium pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh, healthy meals are also available with the all-inclusive PorterReserve fares or may be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

Passengers can also enjoy seamless connections with Porter’s airline partners. Travel onwards to Europe through Toronto-Pearson with Air Transat, or explore more of the Western U.S. through Palm Springs by connecting on Alaska Airlines.

Porter now serves four California cities nonstop from Toronto-Pearson: Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego and San Francisco.

“A congratulations, on behalf of the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, to Porter Airlines on their new routes to San Diego and Palm Springs. These routes will support the more than 2.6 million people that travel between Canada and California every year for business, tourism, academic and cultural collaboration, along with visits to family and friends. I am certain these routes will also help to reinforce the already strong Canadian business connections in the region, particularly given recent prominent Canadian investments in key local industries, such as life sciences, technology and defence.”

– Zaib Shaikh, Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles

“Porter’s new service to Palm Springs and San Diego complements its rapidly growing list of routes offered from Toronto Pearson. Last year, approximately 50,000 passengers had to take a connecting flight to reach these California destinations, so the new service will go a long way in meeting passenger demand and offering greater choice.”
