Palm Springs, California – Palm Springs International Airport is proud to announce the election of Harry Barrett, Jr., AAE, Executive Director of Palm Springs International Airport, to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). Harry was elected to a two-year term by the voting members of AAAE which consists of accredited executives representing airports across the United States. In addition to his board membership, Barrett has been entrusted with leading AAAE’s
endeavors in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the aviation industry.

With an impressive career spanning more than 15 years in civil and military aviation management and 7 years as a military aviator, Barrett has proven himself as a visionary leader committed to driving innovation and fostering collaboration in the industry. Throughout his professional journey, Barrett has consistently displayed a strong dedication to promoting diversity and inclusion. His appointment as the leader of AAAE’s DEI initiatives serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to cultivating a more equitable and inclusive environment for aviation professionals.

“I am deeply honored to have been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Airport Executives,” stated Barrett. “Working alongside some of the brightest minds in our industry, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of airport management practices. Collaborating closely with airport executives, industry leaders, and stakeholders, he will develop strategies that promote equal opportunities, help to establish diverse talent pipelines, and nurture inclusive workplace cultures.
