Alaska Airlines’ Wine Country nonstop returns more than six weeks early as PSP’s seasonal flight schedule ramps up for fall and winter
Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is kicking off its seasonal flight schedule with some familiar destinations returning earlier than ever.
Alaska Airlines’ nonstop service between Palm Springs and Santa Rosa’s Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS) returns today, September 10, more than six weeks earlier than last year, when the route began in late October.
The earlier return gives travelers a head start on fall trips to Sonoma County Wine Country, with easy access to the region’s vineyards, towns, redwood forests and Sonoma Coast. The seasonal route will operate five days a week, daily except Tuesdays and Wednesdays, through April 25, 2027 aboard Alaska Airlines’ 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft.
Several other seasonal routes are also coming back weeks, and in some cases months, earlier than last year, too:
- Minneapolis (MSP) – Delta: September 12, 24 days earlier
- Houston (IAH) – United: September 24, 38 days earlier
- Boise (BOI) – Alaska: November 20, 49 days earlier
- Austin (AUS) – Southwest: November 21, 106 days earlier
“Seasonal service is starting earlier at PSP, and that means more options for our travelers for more of the year,” said Victoria Carpenter, Interim Executive Director of Aviation. “Santa Rosa is a great way to kick things off, and we’re excited to see airline partners continue extending popular routes beyond the traditional peak winter season.”
More Seasonal Nonstops Returning
PSP’s seasonal schedule will continue building throughout the fall and winter, with additional nonstop service returning to destinations across the U.S. and Canada.
Following Alaska’s Santa Rosa service, Delta returns to Minneapolis September 12, followed by Sun Country to Minneapolis September 17. On September 24, United returns to both Houston and Chicago O’Hare.
October brings Southwest to San Jose; WestJet to Edmonton and Winnipeg; American to Chicago O’Hare; and Air Canada to Vancouver and Toronto.
In November, Alaska returns to New York/JFK, Everett and Boise; Delta returns to Atlanta, Austin and Seattle; and Southwest returns to Austin. December brings United service to Washington, D.C. and Newark, along with Delta to New York/JFK. American’s Charlotte service and Southwest’s Chicago Midway service return February 13, 2027.
The growing schedule gives Coachella Valley travelers more opportunities to fly nonstop from their hometown airport while marking the beginning of PSP’s busy travel season.
