Accessibility Statement for Palm Springs International Airport
Effective Date: March 24, 2026
Version: 1.0
Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), owned and operated by the City of Palm Springs, is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all visitors. Our goal is to comply with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and 28 CFR Part 35 by meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We also work to align with newer versions of WCAG where feasible. We aim to provide an inclusive digital experience across our website and digital assets, making our content accessible to individuals of all abilities.
Conformance Status
The PSP website (flypsp.com) partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. The website’s core pages, navigation, flight information display, and interactive features have been built and tested to meet Level AA requirements. Documents hosted on the site including PDFs, reports, and board materials are currently under remediation and are being prioritized by frequency of use and public impact.
Pre-existing documents created before April 24, 2026 that are not actively used in a current process such as archived board minutes, historical press releases, and legacy reports, qualify for the Title II pre-existing content exception under 28 CFR Part 35, where the content is not currently used to provide services, programs, or activities. As a result, such pre-existing documents are not scheduled for active remediation. If you need accessible access to any of these materials, we will provide an alternative format upon request.
Scope of Accessibility Compliance
This statement applies to all digital properties managed by Palm Springs International Airport, including:
- Official Website: flypsp.com (WordPress platform with custom theme, Advanced Custom Fields, Gutenberg editor, and Gravity Forms)
- In-Terminal Displays and Systems: Flight information displays (Aerocloud), in-terminal digital signage, airport managed common use kiosk equipment, ATMs, parking kiosks, and public Wi-Fi landing pages
- Online Services: Flight and travel booking (FlyMyAirport), lost and found portal (Liff Happens), Stay and Play Visitor Pass registration (third-party application — Aptaero), interactive terminal map (Mapplic), and document management system (Laserfiche)
- Social Media and Email Channels: Accessible emails and posts on Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with assistive technologies including screen readers, voice recognition software, keyboard navigation, and magnification tools. We regularly test compatibility with popular assistive technologies and work to resolve any identified barriers.
Ongoing Audits and Accessibility Enhancements
The airport conducts quarterly accessibility audits on our digital assets using automated tools (Acquia Web Governance) and manual checks by accessibility consultants. As part of our efforts to meet federal accessibility requirements by April 24, 2026, we are prioritizing high-traffic areas and critical user functions, with remediation occurring in phases based on user impact and accessibility barriers.
Our current focus areas include:
- Navigation Consistency: Confirming ease of use and intuitive navigation across all platforms
- Contrast and Readability: Achieving WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
- Text Alternatives: Providing descriptive alt text for meaningful images
- Accessible Forms and Interactive Elements: Ensuring keyboard navigability and error handling for forms, including Gravity Forms integration
- Document Remediation: Converting actively used PDFs, reports, and forms to accessible formats, with documents being migrated to Laserfiche for improved management and accessibility
- Multimedia Accessibility: Providing captions and transcripts for audio and video content
Third-Party Content and Vendor Compliance
We actively monitor and collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Some third-party applications integrated with our website including the Stay and Play Visitor Pass registration system may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are working with these vendors on remediation timelines and will provide alternative access methods or direct assistance within five business days of notification for any third-party content that presents accessibility barriers.
Additionally, our site may contain links to external websites outside of our control, including FlyMyAirport for flight and travel booking. If you encounter accessibility issues with third-party content, please contact us and we will assist wherever possible, including providing accommodations through the ADA Coordinator.

Interim Accessibility Support
We acknowledge that certain existing content may not fully meet current accessibility standards during our compliance implementation period. Actively used content is under review, and our team is working systematically to bring it into compliance by the April 2026 deadline. Pre-existing documents not used in a current process — such as archived board minutes, historical press releases, and legacy reports created before April 24, 2026 — are covered under the Title II pre-existing content exception and are not scheduled for active remediation. We are committed to providing alternative access methods or direct assistance for any content upon request, and we will continue to update this statement as progress is made.
