Badging & Permits

Access to secure and restricted areas at Palm Springs International Airport requires proper credentials and authorization.

Airport Identification Badges

Individuals needing access to secured areas must obtain an Airport Identification Badge.

Step 1: Authorized Signatory Letter

Your company must have an Authorized Signatory Letter on file. The letter must be on company letterhead with original signatures and designate a management level representative authorized to request badges.

Step 2: Application & Fingerprinting

Complete the Fingerprint and Badge Application provided by your Authorized Signer. Applicants must present two forms of unexpired government issued ID, including one photo ID.

A Criminal History Records Check and TSA Security Threat Assessment are required.

Step 3: Mandatory Training

After clearance, applicants must complete required training before a badge is issued.

Badge & Fingerprinting Fees
  • Fingerprinting: $83
  • Badge Fee: $65
  • Late Renewal Fee: $100
  • Replacement Badge: $200

Fees may be billed to tenants or paid at time of service.

AOA Vehicle Permits

Vehicles operating in the Air Operations Area require a permit.

A separate Authorized Signatory Letter is required for vehicle permits.

Permanent or Temporary AOA Permit

For company vehicles operating regularly in restricted areas. Permit requests must be updated annually.

Escort Required Permit

For temporary vehicle access. Vehicles must be escorted at all times by a properly badged employee with a permanent AOA permit.

Commercial Filming & Photography

Commercial filming and photography at PSP require approval from the City of Palm Springs and the Airport.

Film permits are issued through the City’s Parks and Recreation Department. Call (760) 323-8272 for assistance.

Location Fees

  • Commercial Filming: $279 per hour plus escort fee
  • Commercial Photography: $166 per hour plus escort fee
  • Escort Fee: $66 per hour per escort

Filming may be limited during peak travel season from October through April.

Commercial Permits

All ground transportation providers must be permitted and authorized to conduct business at Palm Springs International Airport.

Payments for Commercial Vehicle Use Agreements and Greeters Permits

Forms of payment accepted are cash, check, or money order made out to the City of Palm Springs, Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card.

Payments for Commercial Vehicle Use Agreements and Greeters Permits should be remitted at the Vehicle Inspection Plaza (VIP) building located at the entrance of the airport. The VIP is currently open from 06:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Parking is available behind the building by entering through the cargo lane on Kirk Douglas Way.
